The beautiful 'Resonating Script' show has caught the attention of Dubai's media. Today I was interviewed by City Seven tv channel about the exhibition - Here I was explaining that this exhibition aims to challenge public perception of calligraphic art. 'Resonating Script' show cases artwork by 11 different artists and incorporates sculpture and painting in many different styles and mediums.

DESIGN TRENDS - watercolours
Watercolour is still a huge trend this season decorating all sorts of fashion and homewares. After a research session on pinterest, I was feeling very inspired and went out and bought myself a watercolour set. I plan to hone my watercolour painting skills.
Here are some examples of interesting ways watercolours can be used ...
Here are my first few watercolours:

Ikat style pattern
Chevrons - love the contrast of the precise chevrons with the fluidity of the watercolour paint.
Ikat style, again
Abstract - Just love this... a great way to pull together colours in a room.
Abstract - Love the simplicity - beautiful colours and they blend into each other perfectly
Here are my first few watercolours:
1 - Traditional style - Still life (of a mango)
2- Exploring Chevrons
3 - Exploring chevrons and colour
Next project- use watercolours to design this years Christmas cards.
Charity fashion show
Run by Wemmy de Maaker, Mawaheb is an art studio for young adults (over the age of 16) with disabilities. I would recommend you click here to visit the studio gallery on their website to see some serious talent!
At the fashion show Wemmy did a small talk and the students paraded their artwork on the catwalk. There was an amazing atmosphere - Everyone in the room was loving it, clapping and smiling! We had a silent auction to sell the artwork with all the proceeds going to the charity. Here are the pics:
